Heavy Metal Testing
IETQAN provides heavy metal and elemental impurity testing for medical devices and pharmaceutical materials in compliance with ISO 10993-18, USP <232>, and USP <233>. Our analytical laboratory detects and quantifies regulated elements — including lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury — providing the documented evidence required to demonstrate that your products meet patient safety thresholds for regulatory submission. Depending on the sample matrix, we apply techniques including:
- Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) — a highly sensitive technique that detects and quantifies a wide range of heavy metals across diverse sample types.
- Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) — a common, lower-cost alternative for many heavy-metal screens.
- X-ray fluorescence (XRF) — a non-destructive technique used to detect heavy metals in solid samples.
Our heavy metal testing supports food-safety verification, environmental monitoring of water/soil/air, occupational-health screening for at-risk workers, and clinical testing for suspected heavy-metal exposure.
